Elaine Law
Deputy VP Community Relations

Elaine Law has over 13 years of experience managing large application, infrastructure, and process development/improvement projects for company such as McKesson Drug Company, Chiron Corporation, Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics, and Robert Half International. She has managed projects from $6 million dollars and programs over $33 million dollars. She has successful project experience in GXP environments as well as software development including process development, business analytics, procurement, resource management and PMO development. Elaine earned her bachelor’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from University of the Pacific as well as her PM certificate from UC Berkeley Extension. She is also a Certified Scrum Master and has mentored project managers in multiple organizations.


Marlena Hanlon
Director, Community Relations

Marlena Hanlon is a project manager for the public bid process with the City of Oakland and offers strategic process analysis, program and project management through Coyote Crow Consulting. With credentials in cultural anthropology, mediation and applied psychology, she has a unique specialty in assessing corporate cultural relative to strategic planning and management analysis; her additional expertise includes business recovery, start-ups, infrastructure and process development, and capacity building. Marlena is also seasoned in advocacy for and implementation of applied sustainability practices, especially in areas of water harvesting, permaculture and green building technologies. She is currently spearheading the chapter's sustainability initiatives and NPO partnerships.


Lois McCleary
Comm. Rel. - Strategic Alliances Advisor

Lois McCleary is a project consultant with over 20 years of experience leading project teams of all sizes in a variety of industries with team members from as far away as Singapore, France, and the Philippines. She holds PMP, ScrumMaster, and Scrum Product Owner certifications, as well as many company-specific certifications for project management methodologies and operational excellence. Utilizing her abilities in business analysis, change management, interaction design and her creative background, Lois helps companies reduce organization costs, increase effectiveness, and improve collaboration and communication using SharePoint. Beyond controlling scope, resources and time, she delivers real value with her projects by maintaining focus on strategic goals and adjusting tactical priorities to stay on target. Lois' company name, Upbeat Consulting, reflects her personal style and positive attitude.


Wan Averill
Community Relations Special Projects

Wan is a business professional known for managing people and projects with equal effectiveness. She is well respected for delivering on targeted goals in line with customer satisfaction and minimal risk, managing projects in excess of $2B. As a senior Vice President at Bank of America, Wan was especially successful in creating winning strategies, breaking down complex organizational and business issues into simpler, more manageable components. A PMP with Six Sigma training, She was educated at the University of California-both in Berkeley and in San Francisco, and is currently pursuing a MBA from the Presidio Graduate School of Sustainable Management. Wan is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, as well as America Sign Language.
Wan is currently spearheading the strategic deployment of Community Relations’ CRM system.


Paul Frias
Comm. Rel. - Business Development Analyst

Paul moved to California just over a year ago from Austin, TX and is currently attending the University of San Francisco as a full time student in the MBA for Executives program with a tentative graduation date in May 2011. In addition to volunteering for the Chapter, Paul also volunteers at the San Francisco SPCA Animal Care Center. His professional background includes working for Dell Inc as Project Analyst managing short-term business projects which includes utilizing Six Sigma process and receiving Green Belt certification. Paul has been a member of the Chapter since March 2009 and soon began volunteering with the Community Relations team as a Research Analyst.


Terrell Holmes
Comm. Rel. - Business Development Analyst

Terrell Holmes is a Web Marketing veteran who has successfully planned, executed, and managed Interactive projects, programs, and teams for more than 40 clients over the past 11 years.
He has worked in various capacities, working his way from Account Analyst to Management Supervisor. Along the way, Terrell has serviced large and small brands, including Cisco Systems, Claritin, Wyndham Hotels and Vonage. 
Terrell is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, where he obtained a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree, with focuses in English, Communication, and Art & Architectural History.
He is currently transitioning his skill set into Design Management, and working towards obtaining his Project Management Professional (PMP) Credential through the Project Management Institute.
