February  Dinner Meeting

Topic: An Agile Introduction - The Power of Incremental Delivery

Speaker: Chris Sims

You know the traditional approach to a big project: Make a great plan.  Execute to plan.  After a year or so, deliver a fantastic system, on-time, to-spec, and with no defects...  That's the theory, anyway.  The reality is often something else entirely.

An agile alternative to the traditional approach is incremental delivery: finding ways to deliver small, yet valuable, pieces of the system over time.  In 'Software by Numbers', Mark Denne and Dr. Jane Cleland-Huang show how this approach can greatly increase the return on investment (ROI) for a project.  Additionally, the incremental approach can reduce risk and increase customer satisfaction.  Just in case that isn't enough, the incremental approach allows much more accurate control over delivery dates, scope, and quality.  Order right now, and we'll include this six-piece serving set at no charge!

If this all sounds too good to be true, join us for this experiential session where we will execute a few micro-projects and explore how applying an incremental approach impacts the project over its entire life span.  We will have fun, while gathering useful insights that you can take back and apply on your real-world projects.

Please join us for the Membership Information Session from 5:30p.m.-6:00p.m. to hear about the benefits of PMI-SFBAC membership!
